History
An initiative of the Sisters of Mercy, The Catherine McAuley Award was developed in 1998. It was named after its foundress, Catherine McAuley, and its purpose was to continue her vision of leadership and service in the spirit of compassion and mercy. The Award is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, St John of God Health Care, MercyCare, Mercedes College and Santa Maria College. The Award is now a Programme of MercyCare.
Since its inception the following additional programmes have been introduced:
- Leadership Enrichment Programme for women aged 40-50.
- Conversation Series for women executives.
